We have opened our 3rd transcription centre in Pune this week. It is a 30 seater unit which will be managed by Sachin Ambekar (our Unit Head),
Thanks to all our vendors, employees and everyone who made it happen. A pat on the back to – Yogesh, Amol, Ganesh Shirke, Anand Wadekar, Mrunal, Archana, Aruna and Vaishali
Chetan also deserves a round of applause and a chilled beer.
Here’s to all our transcription people across India – excellent work and keep it up.
The field of Transcription obviously involves huge amount of typing, typing not only in terms of accuracy, but speed also.
Transcription, be it medical or legal, or medicolegal, typing is practically inseparable component of it and the speed varies from person to person. Some are slow and some are fast, hence the variable productivity.
Then the question arises, how can we help it out and achieve greater productivity and quality standards?
The software field has provided us with an answer. i.e. Voice recognition systems
We were highly sceptical about the benefits we could achieve from the voice recognition software (VRS) system.
Hence we decided to give it a go and started using a VRS platform and since starting to use this system in Xanadutec, Warje Unit, it has indeed brought out a great change in our work.
TAT is the focal point in Transcription. It has to be maintained at any cost without compromising on quality. Due to manual typing being laborious, even after setting targets for line count, at the end of the day we used to still be left with loads of transcription work yet to be finished, which could have brought out TAT pressures and create unnecessary tensions, obviously hampering our quality.
Due to this solution, it is a different scene now. In terms of productivity, we have noticed that our unproductive time has cut been down significantly and we are more productive due to less manual transcription work.
As quality is our aim and motto, we now utilise this benefit of spared time to achieve more greater productivity and to establish high quality control so that our client gets good work within less turnaround time and he can be fast with his future work and decisions, hence creating a Win-Win Situation for both of us.
The return on Investment or the monetary benefits derived from having spent money is highly positive in the long term.
We always leverage technology and improvement in processes to drive production and quality. Xanadu firmly believes in keeping ahead of the curve.
Our Software team will continue to tweak the system and the next goal is to add NLP (natural language processing) capability to our platform. This ability will further help automate and strengthen our quality layer. Our NLP engine understands “text” and will assist our QA team by highlighting discrepancies in text.
This is the future and we want to be a part of building it.
XanaduTec Bangalore started its operation January 2006 with Murugu the then Editor Cum Unit Coordinator, to handle a large UK based Trust, initially by recruiting some HBTs.
In June XanaduTec Bangalore started its office based operations from Domlur. Yogesh, our Network Engineer, played a vital role in designing and installing the network under the guidance of our CTO, Shahrukh.
Rajesh Kushwaha, MT Admin, spearheaded in his role moving to Bangalore from Pune in June 2006 and redefined the whole process swiftly and taking the entire stuff under his command.
Soon after that XanaduTec Bangalore started its in-house operations from its office started in June with after appointing MTs, Sr MTs and editors. After successful training under the guidance of Pune Team and transition of was done in a slow and phased manner to be handled wholly in Bangalore which was quite challenging. The client was completely transferred to Bangalore to be handled independently after a month.
XanaduTec Bangalore went ahead and masterminded the whole process of the client by keeping up the expectations of the client at par. Banking on the quality our client added more departments added in which was quite efficiently taken up under the ablest leadership of Ilam, Unit Head, Bangalore, and is currently handled based from Bangalore.
I started my venture in XanaduTec as an Editor cum Unit Coordinator and was promoted as Editor Cum Office Administrator later and now is the Production Manager – Outsource.
Earlier to XanaduTec I have successfully worked in a similar capacity and have stupendous experience in Vendor Management.
My area of operation in XanaduTec includes pooling in HBTs and vendors from various parts of India preferably South India, screening and selecting, successfully outsourcing and executing the to the respective vendors as per the set standards of XanaduTec, regular QAing the files to keep the quality at par, providing updates/feedbacks from clients to the vendors, regular surprise visits to the vendors place, adding more clients to the vendors and to keep going to achieve the final goal.
